SCENES FROM THE VIDEO FEATURING JOE

Joe, the Mule

E-mail Joe: JoeTheMule@yahoo.com

Joe, a red roan mule, has been hunting and packing for Diamond Hitch
Outfitters, Dillon, Montana for over twenty years! A wonderful animal
and a great pal, Joe kept Mark on the trail and out of trouble last
year on the Lewis and Clark land trek across the Rocky Mountains: a 365
mile
journey from the Missouri River headwaters (where Sacajawea helped
obtain horses from her people the Shoshone), along the Lemhi, Salmon
and Bitterroot Rivers, across the Lolo Trail and down onto the Weippe
Praire to Orofino, Idaho where the Lewis and Clark Expediton were once
again able to launch dugout canoes down the western slope of the
Rockies. A trek they completed between August 18 and October 3, 1999.
Joe was trucked back to Dillon from Orofino on October 3rd where he
stayed for the winter getting fat on hay and oats.
On April 9, 2000 Joe and Mark were reunited for their eastward
completion of the Route, departing The Dalles, Oregon April 17th as
Lewis and Clark did nearly two hundred years ago.
Joe loves carrots, traveling, and visiting schools. He has his own
email address: <joethemule@yahoo.com> and will repond!
His owners, the McNeill's of Diamond Hitch Outfitters can be
reached at <mules@bmt.net>.
